Baseball, golf, track nominees announced for Coastal Empire High School Sports Awards June 10 at Johnny Mercer Theatre

The Savannah Morning News is proud to announce the nominees for the remaining spring sports players of the year for the Coastal Empire High School Sports Awards, presented by Georgia Ports, to be held at 7:30 p.m. on June 10 at the Johnny Mercer Theatre at the Savannah Civic Center. The winners will be announced at the show. It is produced with support from Chatham Orthopaedic Associates. Andruw Jones will be the guest speaker.

This story lists spring sports nominees for baseball, golf, and track. Nominees for lacrosse, soccer, and tennis appeared on May 29.

The show honors more than 200 high school athletes from across the Coastal Empire area, as well as awarding players of the year for more than 20 sports. It will also include several major awards, including overall Girls Athlete of the Year, Boys Athlete of the Year, Team of the Year, Coach of the Year and the Courage Award.

Each nominated athlete will receive one free ticket for their admittance to the show.

The awards show was held virtually the past two school years because of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Coastal Empire High School Awards show is part of the USA TODAY High School Sports Awards, the largest high school sports recognition program in the country.
