The field for the The Bash high school basketball showcase was announced on Wednesday.

The 11th annual event held at Ridge View High School will be Dec. 7-9.

Teams for this year’s event include in-state schools Ridge View, Gray Collegiate, Lexington, Blythewood, Legacy Early College and out-of-state squads Oak Hill Academy (Va.), Long Island Lutheran (NY), Sunrise Christian (Kansas), Canyon International Academy (Ariz.) and St. Francis Episcopal (Texas).

Matchups will be announced and tickets will be on sale at a later date at TheBashHoops.com.

Here are four things to watch in this year’s event.

Partnership with NIBC

This year’s field is smaller than in years past but has a stronger national field with four teams from the National International Basketball Scholastic Conference, which features some of the elite programs in the country. Legacy Early College, Long Island Lutheran, Oak Hill Academy and Sunrise Christian all play in the NIBC.

With the NIBC teams in the field, there is a possibility some of the games in the tournament will be on an ESPN platform, which televised 54 NIBC games last season.

“This year’s field and the partnership with the NIBC has made it to where The Bash is, without a doubt, the finest high school basketball showcase in the country,” Ridge View athletic director and Bash director Brian Rosefield said. “We look forward to bringing another first-class weekend of basketball to the City of Columbia, Richland County and the state of South Carolina. We are excited about the possibility of having ESPN coverage for this event as well.”
