- The Westchester Knicks of the NBA's second-tier Development League will sport a sponsor's logo on their jerseys this season, the team said Friday, in a revolutionary move for US professional sports.

The four major professional sports leagues in North America – National Basketball Association, National Football League, National Hockey League and Major League Baseball – have so far avoided putting advertising on uniforms, with only the symbols of clothing manufacturers displayed along with team logos.

But the move in the D-League, where the NBA often tries out rule changes before implementing them, could be the forerunner to a shift in policy.
