Basketball: Henry Munkres sets Charyl Stockwell assist record
Henry Munkres set a Charyl Stockwell record for most assists in a basketball game with 13 Friday night in a 78-56 victory over Lutheran Westland.
Munkres also scored 18 points. He broke the mark of nine assists set by Luke Tratechaud in 2018-19. As a team, the Sentinels had 23 assists.
Kian Rooney was 9-for-11 from the field, scoring 19 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Adam Surowiec had 16 points, while Louis Perri had 11 rebounds and five blocks for Stockwell.
Brighton 67, Salem 39
Ashton Tomassi had 13 points and four assists for Brighton, which had six players scored at least seven points.
Eddie Millington had 10 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four blocks for the Bulldogs (17-4). Ben Anderson had 10 points, Trevor Viau eight, Mason Millhouse eight and Robert Shepard seven.
St. Johns 68, Fowlerville 56
Brendan Ray scored 16 points for Fowlerville (3-15). Wyatt Soli had 12 points, Dillon Wieas 11 and Alex Jonas 10 for the Gladiators.

Charyl Stockwell 39, Lutheran Westland 37
Brooklyn Watkins scored 10 points, Jordan Knight nine and Lauren Hammond eight for the Sentinels (8-11).
