Basketball roundup: Independence girls beat Van to close regular season

Feb. 15—Makaila Bolen led Independence with 18 points in a 62-27 win over Van Wednesday in Coal City.

Harmony Mills added 14 for the Patriots, who are the fifth seed in the Class AA Region 3, Section 1 tournament and will visit No. 4 Shady Spring Saturday at 1 p.m.

Emma Wilcox led Van with 23 points.
