Streaks down Maroons

MOLINE — The Galesburg High School girls basketball team defeated Moline 56-40 on Thursday night in Western Big 6 action.

Sophomore Kiarra Kilgore had 26 points to lead the Silver Streaks (17-4, 5-3). Senior Abby Lingafelter chipped in 11 points and had 14 rebounds, and senior Abby Davidson finished with 10 points and nine rebounds for Galesburg.

Galesburg sophs win in double OT

MOLINE — The Galesburg High School sophomore girls basketball team beat Moline 58-50 in double overtime on Thursday evening.

Addy McLaughlin led the 12-1 Silver Streaks with 25 points.

Antonia Kisler finished with 12 points, and Addie Peck chipped in 11 points for Galesburg.

Freshmen boys beat Manual

GALESBURG — The Galesburg High School freshmen boys basketball team defeated Peoria Manual 67-38 on Thursday night at John Thiel Gym.

Jamar Range had 17 points to lead the Silver Streaks. Kaytawan Clay chipped in 14 points, DeAmiyn Elston had 13 points and Ethan Oxley had 10 points for GHS.

AREA GIRLS BASKETBALL

Titans claw Tigers

SHERRARD — The Monmouth-Roseville High School girls basketball team edged Sherrard 43-37 on Thursday night.

Carmyn Huston has a dozen points to lead the 16-3 Titans, and Mattie Gillen chipped in 11 points.

Cougars grab victory

WYOMING — The ROWVA/Williamsfield girls basketball team picked up a 61-13 victory over Stark County on Thursday in Lincoln Trail Conference tournament action.

Carolyn German had 14 points to lead the Cougars. Jenna Woodside added 11 points for R/W.

In other tourney action, West Central edged Wethersfield 59-52. Shelby Bowman led the way for the Heat with 30 points.

Ridgewood beat Mercer County 33-27. Mya Brown had 16 points to lead the Spartans.

AREA BOYS BASKETBALL

Cougars tumble in ICAC tourney action

GLASFORD — The ROWVA/Willliamsfield boys basketball team fell to Peoria Christian 66-43 Thursday Inter County Athletic Conference tournament action at Illini Bluffs.

The Cougars will face the Brimfield Indians at 5 p.m. Saturday for third place.
