Basketball star Taylor Bowen to announce commitment; lists Vermont as one of six finalists

Coveted basketball prospect Taylor Bowen, who grew up in Jericho, will announce his college decision live on CBS Sports HQ during a commitment event on Saturday afternoon.

Bowen, entering his final season at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, has whittled his list to six schools, according to 247sports.com. They are: Duke, Florida State, Iowa, Louisiana State, Providence and Vermont.

The 6-foot-9, 195-pound Bowen played his freshman year (2018-19) at Mount Mansfield Union High School before venturing off to prep school. He spent two seasons at St. George's School in Rhode Island before landing at Brewster Academy for the 2021-22 season and this upcoming campaign. Bowen, born in a refugee camp in Egypt, is one of the country's top recruits: He's ranked 50th in the ESPN 100 for the class of 2023 and 247sports.com places him 37th on its top 150 prospects list.
