Springfield-based outdoor retail giant Bass Pro Shops announced Friday it is opening a new location in Irvine, California.

This new 140,000-square-foot store will be the second Bass Pro in Southern California. There is also a location in Rancho Cucamonga. The new store will showcase industry-leading boat brands and a wide range of ATVs and side-by-side vehicles.

“We are tremendously excited to have the opportunity to partner with the Irvine Company to bring our next generation Outdoor World store to Irvine," said Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops, in a press release. "There is no stronger company to work with in the region focused on the outdoor, coastal lifestyle and conservation.”

Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s has more than 170 locations throughout North America.

The news release says the Irvine store, which is located in the Alton Marketplace, will open in late 2022 or early 2023.
