Batesville library November events

Nov. 14—Batesville Memorial Public Library has several special events and activities planned for the second half of November.

The library's public Book Fair continues through Nov. 26. Visit https://sparkbookfairs.com/organization/BMPL-cmmEypgSEY2t and start shopping! All proceeds go to benefit summer and winter reading programs.

Nov. 16 at 4 p.m. — Join us to make your very own stress ball. This program is for grades 1st to 6th. Registration is required.

Nov. 16 at 6 — 7:30 p.m. — Cricut 101 for Adults — Have you ever wondered if you could use a Cricut? Do you have a Cricut but need to know where to get started? We will guide you through the basics of using Design Space, the software for designing Cricut Maker projects. Explore the Design Space canvas, functions, and tools that make a great project. Learn about the materials, loading, unloading, and assembling a beginner-level cut project.

Attendees will experience the cutting process and use a Cricut Easy Press machine to adhere the beginner-level cut to a makeup/pencil bag to take home. Registration is required.

Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. — Open Block Play — Join Miss Sarah in the Activity Lab for block play. Kiddos will have the choice to play with multiple different style stacking blocks. Come meet new friends and build with us. This program is designed for children ages 1 to 4. Registration not required.

Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. — SATURDAY STORYTIME — There's no time like Storytime! Join us for a fun filled 45 minute session that incorporates books, songs, and activities to build early literacy skills. This program is geared towards children ages 3 to 6. Registration not required.

Nov. 20 at 10 and 11 a.m. — Mother Goose Toddler Time for ages 0-3. Miss Sarah will host a 30 minute session designed to stimulate the learning process of babies and toddlers. Registration not required.

Nov. 20 — 23 — Pioneer Thanksgiving — Come experience pioneer life in an interactive display! Try your hand at grinding wheat, washing clothes, making biscuits and more! This display will be open and available for all ages Monday 12-8 p.m., Tuesday 9-8 p.m., and Wednesday 9-12 p.m. Join us for a taste of pioneer living! Registration not required.

Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m. — Evening Needle Felting — Needle felting workshops will take a slight detour for the next few months. Our regular instructor, Janet Paden, will be unavailable. Until she returns, we will have Free Felting Classes. You can use the kits and materials and design an object of your desire. Many experienced felters are in each session, so feel free to come even if you are new to the craft. Newcomers will be assisted through a beginner-level project. Registration is required.

Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m. — Aging Care Series: Dementia and the Holidays — The holidays are often filled with opportunities for family gatherings, traditions, laughter and memories. But they can also bring about stress, disappointment and sadness when someone in the family is experiencing Dementia. The person with Dementia may

have feelings of sadness and loss if they recognize the changes they are experiencing. At the same time, caregivers may feel overwhelmed planning celebrations and maintaining traditions while providing care and adapting to the changing abilities of the person with dementia. Join us as we talk about the steps you can take to ensure holiday celebrations address the changing needs of the person with dementia, allowing you to make the most of these special family gatherings making memories for years to come.
