Ahead of the new trailer, a fresh look at The Batman has been unveiled, this time showing Gotham City at sunrise.

The new DC movie will see Robert Pattinson take on the role of the Caped Crusader and Bruce Wayne, and is finally due next year after delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, going by this fresh reveal, the aesthetic will be pretty stunning, the picture depicting Batman looking over the Gotham skyline basked in the first light of the morning.

Director Matt Reeves shared the shot on Twitter, writing: "Good Morning, from Gotham City… Can't wait to show you more at #DCFanDome this Saturday… #TheBatman #TrailerShot."

It comes after The Batman teased the upcoming trailer – due for release this weekend at DC FanDome – with a short clip referencing the Bat-Signal, as Pattinson can be heard growling: "It's not just a signal, it's a warning."

The movie is also set to star the likes of Westworld's Jeffrey Wright as detective James Gordon, Andy Serkis as butler Alfred, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as Penguin and Paul Dano as villain The Riddler.

Wright, meanwhile, recently lavished praise on Pattinson, suggesting his take on Batman is "pretty badass".

"Robert is gonna do his thing, and we were working within a Matt Reeves vision, so you know, Robert is doing what Robert does and it's gonna be pretty badass I think," he told ET Online.

"I loved working with him, I love his take and his energy and the way that he kind of brought different levels to different parts of the story. And we work off of one another. I just tried to give him Gordon things, and he did his Batman thing."

The Batman has a release date of March 4, 2022.
