The Batman's spin-off show starring Colin Farrell's The Penguin has added Marvel star Rhenzy Feliz to its cast.

According to Variety, Feliz, who is best known for his role as Alex Wilder in the Marvel series Runaways, is set to star alongside Farrell and How I Met Your Mother actress Cristin Milioti in an as of yet undisclosed role.

The new series will lead on from the events of director Matt Reeves' The Batman as well as explore The Penguin's rise within the Falcone crime family.

Farrell, who will take on executive producing duties alongside Reeves, is set to reprise his role as mobster Oswald 'The Penguin' Cobblepot for the upcoming eight-episode series while Milioti is due to play Gotham crime lord Carmine Falcone's daughter Sofia.

Previously opening up about the upcoming show, Farrell said that he was excited to explore Cobblepot's rise to power.

"The world that Matt Reeves created for The Batman is one that warrants a deeper gaze through the eyes of Oswald Cobblepot," Farrell said. "I couldn't be more excited about continuing this exploration of Oz as he rises through the darkened ranks to become The Penguin. [It] will be good to get him back on the streets of Gotham for a little madness and a little mayhem."

While there is no current release date for the show, Reeves teased fans with what to expect saying: "Colin exploded off the screen as the Penguin in The Batman, and having the chance to thoroughly explore the inner life of that character on HBO Max is an absolute thrill.

"[Producer Dylan Clark] and I are so excited to work with [writer/showrunner] Lauren [LeFranc] in continuing Oz's story as he grabs violently for power in Gotham."

The Batman is available to buy now on 4K Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray and DVD.
