Baton Rouge man accused of shooting at woman
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A Baton Rouge man is accused of firing a weapon on Underwood Avenue around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28.
Robert Johnson, 31, of Baton Rouge was apprehended by officers in connection to the shooting.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said they “observed someone firing a firearm multiple times at the above address and approached the scene in a BRPD marked unit.” BRPD said Johnson was detained after not cooperating with officers.
A woman then told BRPD that she was shot at by Johnson. Officers were able to find a gun “that matched the caliber of the shell casings at the scene,” according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.
On route to being processed, BRPD said that Johnson damaged the unit he was transported in.
Man arrested after drugs, guns seized by deputies in Baton Rouge
The Baton Rouge man was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Monday, Jan. 29 and charged with attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities and simple criminal damage to property.
Johnson remains behind bars on $105,100 bond.
