Baton Rouge man pleads guilty in connection to Dollar General store robberies

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Baton Rouge man pleaded guilty to a charge in connection to 2019 Dollar General store armed robberies.

Officials said Tyler Dunn, 23, pleaded guilty to interference with commerce by robbery.

According to the Department of Justice, four men who were masked and armed went into a Dollar General store on Prescott Drive, brandished handguns and took cash totaling $7,000 from the safe in November 2019.

“During the robbery, Dunn forced an employee to move from the back of the store to the front while pointing a handgun at her,” according to a DOJ news release.

In the same month, the four reportedly robbed another Dollar General store of $1,200 from its safe while masked and armed with guns, officials said.
