Milwaukee-area sisters Brittany Wohlfeil and Kasey Gusho began their baking business less than five years ago, baking out of their homes.

They then moved to a small 300-foot space in Downtown Menomonee Falls just over two years ago. They were so good that the Menomonee Falls community kept asking for more.

Now, the two are expanding their business, Batter & Mac, to open their new larger location, also in downtown Menomonee Falls.

Their grand opening is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4. They will have a liquor license, will serve many more products, have seating and a place for cooking and baking classes. Wohlfeil said they also plan on introducing a line of breads and rolls and expanding flavor options for cookies and macarons.

What will take place at the grand opening of the new Batter & Mac location?

At the grand opening, the two bakers and owners will show their new building and serve free drip coffee all day with the purchase of baked goods. The coffee, said Wohlfeil, is Batter & Mac's own house blend from Vennture Brewing, a Milwaukee-based company.

"It’s a blend that we made with Vennture. Just a really good, smooth, easy-drinking coffee," said Wohlfeil. "We also have espresso drinks and cold brew on taps, also from Vennture. We will have dinner rolls (wheat, white, and rye), hoagies, hamburger buns, hotdog buns and a few different loaves (sourdough, whole grain, and a garlic loaf)."

Where is the new Batter & Mac located?

Batter & Mac will still be in downtown Menomonee Falls. It will be at N89 W16750 Appleton Ave., the former home of Marigold Marketplace & Creative Studio, a business that closed last summer.

Batter & Mac moved from N88 W16739 Main St., Menomonee Falls.

How much bigger will Batter & Mac be?

The new location will be much bigger. The owners will be moving from a 300-square-foot facility to a 2,400-square-foot building space. There will be an indoor seating area, a space for cooking and baking classes and a place that people can reserve for team building, special events and parties.
