Battle Creek's Best: Lakeview's Ratliff leads Enquirer All-City Softball Team

With back-to-back winning seasons and a second straight All-City title, Lakeview sofball has enjoyed its share of honors in the past two years.

And for leading that team to that success, Lakeview's Brian Ratliff is the repeat winner of the 2022 Battle Creek Enquirer All-City Softball Team Coach of the Year as he helped the Spartans to their second straight 18-win season and a second All-City crown after not winning the annual trophy for more than two decades.

The All-City Softball Team is made up of members of the city softball teams and voted on by the city coaches and the Enquirer sports staff.

Ratliff is joined on the All-City squad by six Lakeview players, including Faith Hewkin, Kaitlyn Love, Paige Ratliff, Marin McCullough, Alyssa Hartley and Peyton Russell.

Pennfield has five players on the team, including All-City honorees Jayla Eckman, Kaylynn Budreau, Haley McGuff, Aliyah Smith and Emily Klacking.

Harper Creek adds four players to the All-City roster, including Jordanne Norris, Zoe Froelich, Allie Meyer and Tammy Perrotta.

There are three players from the St. Philip/Climax-Scotts co-op with Brianna Butler, Brooke Dzwik and Sylvia Swager being honored, while Battle Creek Central adds Maria Garcia.
