The Batwoman trailer is here at last and yes, it's very lesbian
Ever since Marvel has teased (*cough* queerbaited) fans with potentially - but never outwardly or confirmed - queer characters like Valkyrie and Captain Marvel, LGBTQ+ fans have been gagging for an "out" superhero. And DC have beaten Marvel to it.
With a new Batwoman TV series from The CW coming soon, the first proper look trailer for the show has finally been released. Starring Ruby Rose (Orange Is The New Black) as Kate Kane, aka Batwoman, the trailer has already proved the show is going to be lesbian af, just like in the comic books. And yes, this is a big bloody deal. A big Hollywood movie or series has yet to actually show a queer character (even when they're explicitly queer in the comic books) being... well, queer. Until now.
Set a few years after Batman has disappeared from Gotham, it's been up to a private security company called Crows to protect the city in The Bat's absence. But then a Crows employee gets kidnapped - and it's none other than Kate Kane's ex-girlfriend, Sophie.
Naturally, this causes Kate to go delving deep into Bruce Wayne's 'Batcave' and discover The Suit. And yeah, she's gonna be making a few tweaks to it. When Bruce's former assistant tells her the suit is "perfection", Kate replies, "It will be when it fits a woman." And seriously, that shit will give you CHILLS.
She steps into the role and starts fighting crime all over Gotham City, but the public seem to think that Batman is back. Kate isn't going to let them think that. As she puts it: "They think I'm him. I'm not about to let a man take credit for a woman's work."
During the trailer, we see flashbacks to her past with now-kidnapped gf Sophie. There's some light making out and a scene that appears to show her being outed while in military training.
Writer on the show Natalie Abrams tweeted, "I really can’t stop watching the #Batwoman trailer. As a Jewish lesbian, I’m beyond proud to see a character like myself on TV - and even more lucky to be writing for her."
So yay! At least we know the show is being written by actual queer people.

And as per, with any awesome, progressive, inclusive, feminist piece of work, cis straight male nerd Twitter is PISSED. Like this guy, who seems to be annoyed about Batwoman "stealing" Batman's suit and symbol. Lol forever.
#Batwoman trailer was so cringe worthy. Of course they go full lesbian version..whatevs, BUT THEN..“When it fits a woman”? “I won’t let a man take credit for a woman’s work”? WTF is she talking about? She STOLE #Batman’s suit/tech/cave & symbol! Staying woke w/a trash script 🤦🏾♂️

And this guy who thinks it's all "forced feminism".
ugh just watched the #Batwoman trailer... they spend half the trailer pointing out that shes a woman/lesbian while every few seconds making some quip about her not being a man...when is hollywood gonna realize this forced feminism shit is ANNOYING AS HELL!

Many of these chumps are also complaining that Kate Kane has "been made" a lesbian for the show. No huns, she's an out lesbian in the comics so STFU.
People are getting so butthurt over the trailer for batwoman😂 “so batwoman is a lesbian now?🙄” Kate Kane is the highest profile gay superhero, she was always a lesbian you whiny little bitch babies
