Bay Area chef turns discarded food into meals for homeless

"I came and volunteered for a few weeks and I liked the whole concept and so, I stayed." For more than 30 years, Food Runners has been saving food destined for the compost bin and donating food kitchens. But when those closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, it teamed up with a furloughed chef to create tasty meals for homeless and other people in need.
