Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was absent from training again on Monday, with the Bundesliga club saying he was getting a rest.

Neuer missed all of last week's training with a knee problem but played in Saturday's 3-0 defeat at leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

He is also expected to feature in Wednesday's Champions League last 16 first leg match at Italy's Lazio.

Bayern said that full back Noussair Mazraoui also got a break while Brayan Zaragoza trained again after a bout of flu.

Bayern are expected to show a reaction after the defeat in Leverkusen in the game at Lazio and in the Bundesliga at Bochum on Saturday.

They are five points behind Leverkusen in the league and can't afford another slip-up in Bochum, while in the Champions League they seek a good result for the second leg at home.
