Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry completed exercises with the ball for the first time since suffering a muscle tendon injury in his left adductor, the Bundesliga champions said on Thursday.

"The 28-year-old already began running at the German record champions' training ground two and a half weeks ago," Bayern said in a statement.

Gnabry has been out of action since he suffered the injury during the Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt last December.

Bayern added that goalkeeper Daniel Peretz (knee ligament injury) and defender Dayot Upamecano (muscle strain) are also making progress towards their comebacks, and both trained with the ball during an individual session.

The German record champions are second in the Bundesliga table, two points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen. On Saturday, they host Borussia Mönchengladbach.
