SAULT STE. MARIE — Bayliss Public Library has announced its slate of upcoming events for the month of February.

Preschool Storytime is not currently being offered at the library. However, families are welcome to bring their toys and friends to utilize the space in the library for play, storytime, study areas, and more. Be sure to ask for the weekly “make-n-take” craft, too.

At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, the library will host its quarterly Poetry Café. Upper Peninsula author and educator Amy Klco will be the guest poet for the evening. After Klco’s presentation, the rest of the night will be open for other readings. Poetry, songs, raps, and free verse can all be performed by any member of the public. Refreshments will be provided.

Every Tuesday at 2 p.m., the library screens films for their Movie Matinee program. Film selections can be viewed inside the library. Be advised that not all movie choices are family films, so please use your best judgment when deciding whether to bring children.

In lieu of the typical bake sale hosted annually by the Friends of Bayliss, the Friends are asking for the community to instead donate by purchasing a “paper cupcake.” Call the library or visit the circulation desk for more information.

The Winter Farmer’s Market continues to be offered every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Adults are invited to participate in a craft at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12. Advance registration is required.

All of these events are free and open to the public. Should you have any questions, contact the library at (906) 632-9331.
