Bayshore Medical Center Named Top Hospital, Gets ‘A’ In Safety

HOLMDEL, NJ - Holmdel’s Bayshore Medical Center has been granted a prestigious award in patient safety by the healthcare watchdog organization The Leapfrog Group. The North Beers Street site was recently named a Leapfrog Top Hospital, awarded to hospitals with systems in place to prevent medication errors, higher quality on maternity care and lower infection rates, among other advancements in patient care, according to a news release.

The Beers Street location was also granted an “A” safety rating by the watchdog organization. Hospitals that are eligible to receive a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade must have received an A in the most recent round of scoring to be eligible.

“Bayshore Medical Center has long been a trusted name here in Northern Monmouth County and due to the extraordinary efforts of our medical staff and team members, we are elevating that recognition statewide,” said Frank Citara, the Chief Hospital Executive at Bayshore Medical Center. “The care and safety of our patients and their families is second to none and the work of our team members to improve each day is unparalleled. This recognition is a reflection of every individual that works here at the hospital.”

The annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey collects and transparently reports hospital performance, empowering purchasers to find the highest-value care and giving consumers the lifesaving information required to make informed decisions.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade assigns letter grades to hospitals based on their record of patient safety, helping consumers protect themselves and their families from errors, injuries, accidents and infections.

“Our commitment to providing our community with the best healthcare possible will always remain our top priority and this recent recognition only underscores that promise,” Citara said.

Bayshore Medical Center serves as one of 14 Hackensack Meridian Health hospitals throughout New Jersey. Individuals in Phase 1A and Phase 1B may also register to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at the medical site. Read more: Bayshore Medical Center To Offer COVID Vaccines To Police, EMS
