BAY TERRACE, QUEENS — The New York Blood Center will host a donation drive Tuesday in Bayside, and donors will have the chance to get free COVID-19 antibody tests.

The blood drive will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the the Bay Terrace Shopping Center's American Eagle outpost.

Whole-blood donors who test positive for coronavirus antibodies will be able to contribute their plasma to help hospitalized COVID-19 patients recover from the virus.

Recent snow storms have impacted blood collection, creating a need for 6,500 blood donors and 1,500 platelet units to replenish supplies this week, according to the New York Blood Center.
