Baysox bounce back with victory over RubberDucks

Baysox 4, RubberDucks 2

Four Bowie Baysox pitchers allowed seven hits but only two runs to beat the RubberDucks at Canal Park on Thursday night.

Jensen Elliot (6-2) picked up the victory in relief for the Baysox. He came on in the fifth inning with the Baysox ahead 3-1 and did not allow a run or walk on one hit.

The Ducks mustered seven hits, including doubles by Micah Pries and Jhonkensy Noel. Noel's double in the eighth inning scored Pries for the Ducks' second run of the game.

Ducks starter Thomas Ponticelli (2-3) suffered the loss. A right-hander, Ponticelli went four innings and gave up three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks. Jerson Ramirez followed Ponticelli with a scoreless inning striking out two. Manuel Alvarez tossed two innings allowing one run, and Brett Daniels closed the game with two scoreless innings and two strikeouts.

Bryan Lavastida got the Ducks on the board in the fifth when his single scored Jose Tena to cut the Baysox's lead to 3-1.
