Baysox 2-9, RubberDucks 0-1

Bowie Baysox pitching dominated the visiting RubberDucks Thursday in a doubleheader sweep  in Maryland.

In the first game, Baysox second baseman Connor Norby spoiled a fine pitching effort by Tanner Bibee. Bibee (0-1) allowed four hits in his six-inning, complete game. Two of the hits were solo homers by Norby. Bibee walked one and struck out six. The Ducks were held to a single hit by Julian Escobedo in the third inning.

In the nightcap, the offense struggled again as the Ducks lost their fourth consecutive game. Three Bowie pitchers held the Ducks to four hits, three walks, one run and 10 strikeouts. Brayan Rocchio gave Ducks starting pitcher Luis Oviedothe lead in the first with a solo home run. It was Rocchio's ninth homer this season.

Rocchio, batting second in the lineup, was followed by a walk to Micah Pries and a hit by pitch to Jhonkensy Noel, but both were stranded on base. After the first inning, the Ducks left five more runners on base without a run to show.

Oviedo (0-4) lasted 2⅔ innings, giving up four hits, two unearned runs and four walks. The Baysox put seven more runs on the board against the final three Ducks relievers.
