BB gun causes nearly $2K in damages at San Angelo Elementary; 1 arrested a month later

SAN ANGELO — About two weeks after windows and doors at a San Angelo elementary were shot at, one man has been arrested, according to an arrest affidavit obtained Friday.

On Dec. 29, 2021, police arrived at Bradford Elementary, 2302 Bradford Street. They watched surveillance video of two people who walked around the school, in which one of them pulled out a "BB or pellet gun," records state.

The person shot at "multiple glass panes" in windows and doors, which caused $1,864 worth of damages, according to the affidavit.

Officers found and spoke to one of the people in the video, who named a second person as the shooter, records state.

Jake Louis Aguirre, 20, was arrested Thursday, Jan. 14, on suspicion of criminal mischief between $750 and $30,000 in damage to a school building. He remained in Tom Green County Detention Center in lieu of a $7,500 bond as of 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, according to online jail records.
