BBC Breakfast's Carol Kirkwood opens up about unexpected romance

BBC weatherwoman Carol Kirkwood unexpectedly fell head over heels for her fiancé Steve Randall, who she announced her engagement to live on air last year.
Kirkwood recently spoke to Closer about the "perfect" man she'll soon tie the knot with, sweetly opening up about their relationship.
"My fiancé is very handsome. He's very kind and caring and he makes me laugh," she gushed. "Steve's a good cook too. He's all I could ever want. In my eyes he's perfect.
"We were friends before we became romantically involved so we knew each other quite well before we started dating," the former Strictly Come Dancing star revealed.

"That was nice because it just kind of happened. Neither of us were looking for romance and there it was, it just evolves. It's so lovely. Who'd have thought that at this ripe old age, I'd be getting married again? I certainly didn't.
"There's so much to look forward to in the next 20 years."
Kirkwood previously opened up about her man to Prima back in the summer of 2021, where she also gushed about their sweet romance.

"I don't want to say too much about my boyfriend, but I will say that he is very kind and very funny – he's always making me laugh," Kirkwood said.
"He always makes me a cup of tea before I go to work in the morning, which is very romantic – it's 2.45am and he often leaves me a little love note for when I come home from work. That, to me, is worth a million red roses.
"He is the best thing that's ever happened to me, without a shadow of a doubt."
Kirkwood was previously married to field hockey player Jimmy Kirkwood, whom she split from in 2008.
