BBC Breakfast's Nina Warhurst shares abusive message from online troll

BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst has shared an abusive message she recently received from an online troll.

The pregnant host shared an email from a viewer on Twitter that criticised her appearance.

Warhurst took a screenshot of the message which read: "Please do something with your hair. You look a mess! We have to look at you while we are eating out breakfasts, for heavens sake!"

Warhurst commented on the abuse: "Women who do this to women. Too repulsed by my hair to eat her breakfast, but managing to bang out this vitriol. Apart from anything else I can’t bear inaccuracies – I think we can all agree my hair looked [heart love emoji]."

The presenter also uploaded a selfie of her posing with co-host John Kay.

Warhurst also received support from various other presenters including Sky Sports News' Hayley McQueen who tweeted: "Wow, if that's a bad hair day you should see mine sometimes, they best not switch over to Sky, I might make them actually sick haha. Some people are so strange!"

Rylan also said: "F*** THEM . U look lovely x."

Broadcaster Michelle Ackerley also responded by saying: "You look stunning! Fab hair."

Warhurst is currently BBC Breakfast's main business presenter, a role she has held since 2020 after the departure of Steph McGovern. Before her promotion, she worked for BBC Breakfast on a freelance basis.

Prior to presenting, Warhurst worked as an actor and appeared in Casualty and Heartbeat before transitioning to broadcasting with a job at Russia Today.

She later joined the BBC in 2010 and eventually became the North West's politics editor. She also worked for BBC Sport and covered the 2014 FIFA World Cup from Brazil.
