BBC's true-crime drama Kidnapped has unveiled a first official look at Nadia Parkes as Chloe Ayling.

Based on the 2017 abduction of model Ayling, who would go on to appear in Celebrity Big Brother a year later, the six-part series comes from Killing Eve writer Georgia Lester.

Under the pretences of a modelling opportunity, Ayling turned up at an Italian address only to be taken to a farmhouse, where she was held for six days. Her kidnappers, who were later tried and sentenced by an Italian court, demanded a £265,000 ransom.

The drama has been made with Ayling's cooperation and is based on official documents of legal proceedings, interviews, research and her own book Kidnapped. It will also examine the intense media scrutiny that she faced after the kidnapping.

Previously addressing this TV project based on her experiences, the real Ayling told The Mirror: "I am excited that BBC Studios are telling my story and that the wider world will get to know the truth about what happened to me and learn of the many details that weren't brought to light originally.

"Georgia Lester and the team have been incredibly supportive in our conversations, and I couldn't be happier that they are making this series."

Lester herself went on to share: "Every moment that I have spent researching this series and spending time with Chloe, learning about the ordeal she suffered both by the men who abducted her and the people who doubted her, has been shocking and infuriating.

"I can't wait for audiences to finally see her courage, her charm and her unwavering resilience."

Kidnapped will air on BBC Three at a later date.
