The BBC has released a brief teaser clip for the upcoming Peaky Blinders musical ahead of its Christmas premiere.

Titled Peaky Blinders: Rambert's The Redemption of Thomas Shelby, the live performance will air on BBC 4 and iPlayer on January 1, 2024 and sees the Rambert Dance Company reimagine the hugely popular crime series.

The live show has been adapted for stage by series creator Steven Knight with choreographer Benoit Swan Pouffer.

A teaser shared on the BBC Arts Instagram sees dancer Guillaume Quéau playing the iconic role, complete with the iconic flat cap, leading a dance set to the show's opening song, 'Red Right Hand' by Nick Cave.

"Rambert's spectacular dance adaptation The Redemption of Thomas Shelby, written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, with direction and choreography by Rambert’s artistic director @benoitswanpouffer," the caption reads.

"With an atmospheric and powerful soundtrack of new music and iconic Peaky tracks, and a mesmerising lead performance by @guillaumequeau, it tells Shelby's World War One story, before his days as a notorious crime boss."

Beginning in France during WW1, the musical follows the early life of Tommy Shelby, covering his return to post-war Birmingham, his relationship with Grace Burgess and rise through the ranks of the criminal underworld.
