BBQ, boats and baking: What to do in West Michigan this weekend

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — You can keep the Valentine’s Day theme going into the weekend with plenty of fun activities across West Michigan to do with the people you love most.

Winter BBQ and Beer Bash

Home Stryker Field in Kalamazoo will host the first-ever Winter BBQ and Beer Bash this Saturday.

Those in attendance will be able to sample dozens of different barbecues and beers while also checking out some live music.

“Black Panther” in concert

The Grand Rapids Symphony will host two separate showings of Marvel’s “Black Panther” that will be accompanied by a live band.

The experience will take place at DeVos Performance Hall on both Friday and Saturday.

DeVos Place is welcoming the 79th annual Grand Rapids Boat Show to town this week.

Enjoy five days of everything boating through Sunday evening. There will be over five acres of boats and other features for you to check out.

“Friends” Night with the Griffins

Friday night will be a specialty theme night for the Grand Rapids Griffins and they could not BE any more excited.

“The One With ‘Friends’ Night” will take over Van Andel Arena. Fans will be able to enjoy references to the iconic sitcom and even take a picture on the famous couch. A portion of each ticket sold will also be donated to the Matthew Perry Foundation, which supports substance abuse care.

GR Rise take on the Atlanta Vibe

The Grand Rapids Rise are dominating the competition in the Pro Volleyball league and currently sit in second place at 2-1.

The team hopes to bounce back from the first loss of the season on Sunday against the Atlanta Vibe. Fans who show up will also receive a Rise fleece blanket along with their ticket.

Whether you’re looking to spend the weekend with friends or a special someone, Thought Design in Rockford is offering you the chance to learn a new recipe.

Galentine’s Day Fashion Show at Woodland Mall

Woodland Mall is the place to be this weekend to keep celebrating Galentine’s Day right.

The mall will host a fashion show with a live DJ accompanying the models. The first 100 attendees will also receive goodie bags that will include coupons, freebies and other samples.
