BCSO arrest man suspected of armed robbery at Panama City service station disguised as woman

PANAMA CITY — Investigators arrested on Monday a man who allegedly robbed a Panama City service station and shot the clerk while disguised as a woman in September.

According to a news release from the Bay County Sheriff's Office, Kedrick Jamal McNeil was arrested and charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The investigation began when deputies with the BCSO responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Beeline gas station on Cherry Street about 3 a.m. Sept. 9. Deputies arrived at the store to discover the store clerk had been shot during the robbery.

The suspect was seen on video surveillance wearing a dress, wig and face mask, running into the store. The suspect demanded the store clerk give him money from the business, then shot the clerk with the pistol he was carrying, the release said.

After BCSO investigators gathered witness statements, canvassed the area and followed up possible leads, they were able to identify the suspect as McNeil, the press release states.

McNeil had been released from the Florida Department of Corrections on March 1, 2021, and returned at that time to Bay County.

McNeil received additional charges after investigators connected him to two associated cases. He was also charged with resisting an officer without violence, operating a motor vehicle with no driver’s license and grand theft, the release states.
