Beach Boys tribute band to rock the grandstand stage at the Grange Fair this summer

The Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair has announced their third grandstand performer for this summer, with the band bringing some tropical flavor to the mix.

The fair organizers announced on their Facebook page that Beach Boys tribute band Surf’s Up will take the stage on Aug. 21.

Surf’s Up is comprised of four members — two brothers, Donny and Danny Goldberg; cousin Denny Hardwick and Don Goldberg Sr., who is the father of Donny and Danny and the founder of the group.

According to the band’s website, they have been playing shows across the United States for more than 25 years.

While the Beach Boys may be the Hawaiian shirt-clad group’s specialty, they also offer a large array of songs from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s, as well as other classic and pop rock songs.

Last week, the fair announced that The Van Dells, a ‘50s and ‘60s rock tribute band, will perform at the fair on Aug. 22. It was also announced the week prior that blue-collar ‘90s country star Aaron Tippin will perform on Aug. 19.

Grandstand shows are free, but admission to the fair is required.

In years past, the fair has hosted performers like Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Morgan Wallen and Garth Brooks.

The 2024 Grange Fair will be held Aug. 16-24. For more information, visit the fair’s website.
