Beach-themed BrisaBar returning to Campus Martius on May 18

Summer in the D is about to heat up. A popular Campus Martius attraction, BrisaBar, will be back with beach-themed cocktails and food for Detroiters, starting May 18.

Here is all you need to know:

What is BrisaBar?

BrisaBar is an outdoor covered bar in the heart of the city from Elia Group's Iconic Collection, which is a metro Detroit hospitality group, in partnership with Downtown Detroit Partnership.

"The return of the BrisaBar is yet another reason to visit Campus Martius Park, the No. 1 public square in the U.S., this summer," David Cowan, chief public spaces officer for the Downtown Detroit Partnership. said in a statement. "We're proud to partner with the Elia Group throughout the year and our placemaking work in Downtown Detroit is even more successful because of iconic culinary experiences like BrisaBar."

In addition to cocktails, the bar also offers live performances with colorful lounge chairs and areas filled with sand for that real vacation feel.

What does BrisaBar serve?

Guests can get a true feeling of vacation with BrisaBar's beach-themed specialty cocktails and contemporary culinary featuring items like salads, calamari, burgers and lobster rolls. That's just a sampling of the food selections.

A few drink selections include the "Motown Mojito," which has light rum, simple syrup, lime juice, soda and fresh mint; or a "Kiss By The Beach," which features Tito's Handmade Vodka, peach puree and lemonade. Also available will be margarita slushies, daiquiris, beers and seltzers.

The bar will also offer a happy hour from Monday-Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. with $8 cocktails and $12 appetizers.

The Beach at BrisaBar

Campus Martius also offers a beach-themed lounging area for customers to snuggle their toes in the sand while drinking their cocktails for a true beach experience.

Hours of operation

BrisaBar is open on the following days and times.

  • Sunday through Wednesday: From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., for lunch, happy hour and dinner.

  • Thursday through Saturday: From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., for lunch, happy hour and dinner.

The bar is open through September, weather permitting.
