Beachfront dining and free champagne: Dazzle your Valentine at these Miami restaurants

Love is in the air — or at least, it’s supposed to be, because it’s February. Which means it’s time to make those Valentine’s Day reservations.

Here are a few of the restaurants in and around Miami that are offering special menus. All specials are for Feb. 14 unless otherwise noted and don’t include tax or gratuity.

Acqualina Resort

For the first time, the award-winning luxury resort is opening its exclusive — 10 tables! — Valentine’s Day beachfront dinners to locals. The dinners include a four-course menu at tables decorated with white linens and roses and a stunning view of the ocean. The meal opens with ceviche and Caprese Burrata, then moves on to salads, entrees and dessert. Vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten-free options are available, as are tailored wine pairings.

Amara at Paraiso

The three-course tasting meal at the waterfront restaurant from Chef Michael Schwartz, who was just nominated for a James Beard Award, includes royal red shrimp, beef tartare, grilled cobia and arepas and caviar. Guests at a waterfront table enjoy a complimentary glass of Veuve Cliquot Champagne and a bouquet of red roses.

Bourbon Steak

Michael Mina’s steakhouse inside the J.W. Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa will serve a three-course prix fixe menu with appetizer, entree with side dishes and a dessert. Choices include prime cuts of meat plus pan-seared local snapper and miso-glazed sea bass. There will be a live DJ and a photo booth to commemorate your night. The dinner special will also be offered on Feb. 11.

Carbone

The upscale Major Food Group restaurant is offering a four-course dinner featuring some of the restaurant’s favorite dishes, including burrata and caviar, spicy rigatoni vodka, Mario’s meatballs and veal parmesan.

Doma

Chef Marco Giuliano is preparing a four-course prix fixe dinner with an amuse-bouche of soft quail egg, followed by appetizers like breadcrumb-encrusted scallops with English peas puree or beef carpaccio. Main courses include prawns and broccoli rabe risotto, sweet and spicy salmon or grilled filet mignon.

Downtown Doral

The City of Doral and Downtown Doral are hosting an evening under the stars with a prix fixe dinner provided by any of five participating restaurants, followed by a rooftop concert by local violinist Ronny Moreno atop the Doral Cultural Arts Center. Participating restaurants are Bachour, Dragonfly, Bulla, Pisco y Nazca, and Barbakoa by Finka.

Joia Beach

Enjoy the sunset and the Miami skyline at the “Oui, Joia Amour” dinner party, which includes entertainment and a prix fixe menu including a beef tenderloin carpaccio, surf and turf and the Valentine’s Golden Platter with fruits and desserts along with a glass of Barons de Rothschild Brut Champagne for a toast.

LPM

At this French Riviera-inspired Brickell gem, indulge in a prix fixe menu with choices of tuna tartare with caviar, linguine truffle, lamb cutlets, baby chicken or bream filet.

Luca Osteria

Giorgio Rapicavoli’s spot on Giralda Plaza in the Gables is offering a seven-course sharing-style menu that includes branzino, arancini with osso buco ragu, bucatini with red wine, black truffle and parmigiano reggiano and sea scallop saltimbocca. There’s also an optional wine pairing for $75.

Nikki Beach

Order a heart-shaped pizza, settle down on a daybed and watch the romcom “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” under the stars while you’re feted with flowers and wine boxes.

Planta and Planta Queen

Both vegan restaurants are offering a three-course prix fixe dinner menu that includes a plant-based caviar service and Udon noodles with truffle, plus red velvet lava cake for dessert.

Platea

This Peruvian steakhouse in Pinecrest offers a special menu with choices including tostones with wagyu picanha, aji amarillo, salsa criolla and red pepper coulis and octopus tiradito. Main courses include Surf & Turf Tomahawk with a Tomahawk and 8 oz lobster.

R House

Famous for its drag performances, this Latin-inspired restaurant and bar in Wynwood celebrates with a “Disco Inferno of Love show” by producer and host Athena Dion. Guests will be welcomed with a glass of bubbly and can sample a tasting menu that includes lobster croquetas and empanadas plus pan-seared crispy snapper and carne asada as entrees.

Sexy Fish

A restaurant with the word “sexy” in the name has a lot to live up to on Valentine’s Day, and so this Brickell hot spot is offering an exclusive tasting menu and a bottle of Champagne Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut N.V. The meal ends with a shared dessert and what the restaurant claims is a “heart-stopping” cocktail. Sexy!
