Beanie Feldstein, Lana Condor, and More Celebs Join the AerieReal Role Models

“To have a campaign like this, that is so allowing you to be yourself, is really, really refreshing.”

Self-love, authenticity, and body positivity have been core tenants of the Aerie brand for years, beginning with their pledge to stop retouching their imagery back in 2014. Since then, they’ve gone on to do everything from revamping their stores to partnering with inspiring celebs like Aly Raisman and snowboarder Brenna Huckaby.

Aerie has just announced its new crop of #AerieReal Role Models, and some truly incredible stars are joining the esteemed ranks. WWD shared the list, which includes actors Beanie Feldstein, Lana Condor, and Hari Nef, along with scientist Keiana Cavé, Broadway star Ali Stroker, entrepreneur Dre Thomas, DJ Tiff McFierce, artist Manuela Barón, among others. What a fantastic crew!

“We always want to build the cast around what the community represents to us,” Stacey McCormick, senior vice president of Aerie marketing, told WWD. “Every day we’re seeing different women who are doing amazing things. So we select women who are inspiring us. The list of things that we can do with these women is incredible.”

“The world can sometimes be scary,” Lana said about her role in the campaign. “Sometimes in casting rooms, when it’s me and everyone else is blonde and blue-eyed, that never feels good. Because it kind of makes you feel like you’re filling a quota. So to have a campaign like this, that is so allowing you to be yourself, is really, really refreshing.”

Fans were thrilled to see their faves join Aerie’s Role Models. “AHHHHHHHH BEANIE FELDSTEIN IS ONE OF AERIE’S NEW @Aerie REAL ROLE MODELS AHHHHHHHHHH,” tweeted one. “ @Aly_Raisman AND @lanacondor are both #AerieREAL role models this year! I LOVE TO SEE IT! THIS IS SO ON BRAND FOR ME,” wrote another.

The new Role Models aren’t the only exciting thing about this campaign; Aerie is giving away $400,000 in grants to help empower and invest in young people who are making positive change. Could this campaign be any more inspiring? We think this is peak motivational for sure.
