Bears are hopeful DT Akiem Hicks will be good to go in Week 13

The Chicago Bears defense is coming off its worst performance of the season, where they allowed 41 points to the Green Bay Packers in a primetime beating.

They certainly missed defensive tackle Akiem Hicks, who suffered a hamstring injury two weeks prior against the Minnesota Vikings. Hicks’ presence in the middle of that defense was noticeably absent, and Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense attacked the middle of that defense.

Hicks missed practice on Wednesday, and Matt Nagy says he remains day-to-day with that hamstring injury. But Nagy sounds like someone that’s hopeful Hicks will return to the lineup against the Detroit Lions in Week 13.

“I do feel like he’s getting better. He’ll be day-to-day, and I’m hoping that he’ll be able to go.”

The Bears missed Hicks in the run game, where the defense allowed 182 yards on the ground against the Packers, including 163 yards between Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams.
