Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will hold a presidential campaign event at Okatie Ale House in Bluffton first thing Friday morning, a switch up from an earlier location, according to the Beaufort County Republican Party chairman Kevin Hennelly.

The 44-year-old republican’s stop in Beaufort County will be one of the first since announcing he was entering the presidential race May 24. DeSantis’ campaign launch via Twitter Spaces was lambasted for technical glitches, but through Fox News media the governor laid out his schedule for his ‘Our Great American Comeback Tour.’

During his four-day trip, he plans to visit Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. On Friday, DeSantis will head to South Carolina, stopping through Beaufort, Greenville and Lexington County.

At 9 a.m. Friday, Okatie Ale House will host space for DeSantis’ event, said the Beaufort County Republican Party chairman, on Monday.

Beaufort Academy was previously scheduled to provide a space for DeSantis’ event, according to an earlier Greater Bluffton Republican Club news release. However, due to concerns of the “facility to appropriately and safely accommodate” the number of people who may have attended, the campus location was foregone, an academy board member said Monday.

DeSantis’ campaign event will last until 10:30 a.m., according to the registration site.
