Beaufort County election results: Phillips, Toomer win mayoral races

10:30 p.m. update: With 81 out of 95 precincts counted, races in Bluffton and Port Royal have been called.

10:00 p.m. update: 54 out of 95 precincts now counted with only South of the Broad precincts left to count. Port Royal is fully reported. Bluffton is showing 28.6% of precincts counted.

9:47 p.m. update: The truck carrying ballot boxes from Hilton Head Island arrives at Board of Voter Registration and Elections main office. The Bluffton truck is still yet to arrive.

9:30 p.m. update: Precincts counted remain at 27 out of 95 for last 45 minutes. In some areas including Bluffton and Hilton Head, the results reflect early voting totals only. Port Royal is showing 33.3% of precincts counted.

Bluffton Mayor

  • ✓ Larry Toomer: 74%, 3,047 votes

  • Joseph Castagnino: 25.4%, 1,046 votes

Bluffton Town Council

  • ✓ Bridgette Frazier: 29%, 2,085 votes

  • ✓ Dan Wood: 29%, 2,083 votes

  • Tim Wood: 25.7%, 1,849 votes

  • Bob Burger: 15.9%, 1,141 votes

Beaufort County School Bond Referendum

  • Yes 71.7%, 11,551 votes

  • No: 28.3%, 4,556 votes

Port Royal Mayor

100% of precincts reporting

  • ✓ Kevin Phillips: 60.3% 628 votes

  • Joe DeVito: 39.5%, 411 votes
