Book review committees voted Wednesday night to ban a fourth book from Beaufort County library shelves: “Forever for a Year” by B.T. Gottfried. The committees returned five more to the same grades as before removal, and one will be reviewed again due to a tie vote.

“Forever for a Year” tells the story of two high-school freshman falling in love with each other as “They gradually share first kisses, first touches, first everythings,” according to Macmillan Publishers. Previously the book was only available for grades 9-12.

Out of the 66 books decided on so far, committees also banned “The Haters” by Jesse Andrews, “Nineteen Minutes” by Jodi Picoult and “It Ends With Us” by Colleen Hoover. It has been nine months since Superintendent Frank Rodriguez removed nearly 100 books for review and 31 books still need to be decided on.
