Beautiful Crazy Boutique & Designs opens storefront on Taylor Street

ZANESVILLE — Allison Pollock's house was bursting at the seams with clothing, but it wasn't pieces from her own closet.
The Zanesville native started an online store in 2020 curated with sweaters, jeans, tie-dye items, and custom hats and flannels.
The clothes were selling, but inventory needed replaced. That was the breaking point when she realized she needed a new space for her blossoming business.
"It just started small at first, then it got really big in my house, and that's when my dad was like — I found a building," she said.
That building is on the corner of Linden Avenue and Taylor Street, where Pollock now has Beautiful Crazy Boutique & Designs storefront. It opened its doors this fall.
The storefront is new, but she's been selling clothes for a year-and-a-half. She was working full time for a large company with three children when she decided to open the online store.
But setting up a physical shop came with more challenges than she anticipated.
The old building's walls had to be redone when they came in, so everyone got to work on renovating the space. That included Pollock's sister Carly Henderson, who helps around the shop during the week.
The building also flooded last month, but the damage was quickly remedied by Pollock's father.
The store still needs a permanent sign and other cosmetic improvements, but "it's slowly, slowly coming together," Pollock said.
She does custom desgins and takes requests. Whether it's an idea you have yourself, or something you see online, Pollock said she will take it on.
"It's just a little bit of everything," she said.
Beautiful Crazy Boutique & Designs, 108 Taylor St., is open noon to 6 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
