This ‘beautiful’ steakhouse abruptly closed in Meridian after four-year run

When Texas de Brazil opened in May 2019 at The Village at Meridian, customers were ready to feast.

“This place is beautiful!” a Yelp reviewer wrote, adding that “the meat was delicious and the quality was fabulous!”

Less than four years later? It apparently wasn’t enough.

Texas de Brazil, 3525 E. Longwing Lane, has permanently closed. The decision was effective Monday, said Hugh Crawford, general manager of The Village at Meridian.

He did not have additional information.

A carnivore’s dream, Texas de Brazil is a churrascaria, or Brazilian-style steakhouse — with Lone Star State influence. The Dallas-based chain serves all-you-can-devour, fire-roasted meats in an upscale setting with an open-view grill.

Like Tucanos Brazilian Grill near the Boise Spectrum, the Texas de Brazil menu in Meridian was proudly primal. It also included a well-stocked salad bar.

After being seated, customers flipped a card on the table from red to green. Room-stalking gauchos cruised over with skewers and flung sustenance on plates: Beef, pork, lamb, chicken, Brazilian sausage. If customers needed a break? They turned the card back to red.

Dozens of Texas de Brazil locations remain open in the United States, as well as a handful overseas. The closest one to Boise is in Seattle.
