Based in Vermont, Shire Shuds is an LGBTQIA+ owned beauty brand and small business that caters to dry and sensitive skin. The company offers a line of uniquely handmade body soaps that are safe for those with rosacea, eczema, acne and other skin issues to enjoy.
The idea all started when founder Dallas struggled to find a body wash that wouldn’t cause skin to flake or itch. But after coming up short time and time again, the brand’s creator decided to take matters into their own hands.
Enter: Shire Suds.
Now, what makes the brand unique is its use of vegan and non-comedogenic ingredients. That includes everything from shea butter and babassu oil to hemp oil and olive oil, most of which have anti-inflammatory properties and are great for softening and moisturizing the skin, according to Healthline.
Not to mention, all the soaps have been tested on real people with problematic skin, including the founder.
“I test all my products on myself before selling them, and as a transgender person undergoing hormone therapy, my skin is especially temperamental,” they wrote on the company’s website. “I love using my own products, and I think they keep my skin clean and smooth without irritating it or drying it out.”
