My Beauty File: Pam Wolf of The Parlor NYC

Pam Wolf is the founder of The Parlor NYC, the first and only collaborative community club for best-in-class beauty and wellness experts and their clientele. A real estate and business professional, Pam re-imagined the traditional beauty and wellness service model by creating an artfully designed luxury space perfect for service professionals seeking to grow their businesses while continuing their education and stoking their creative spirits.

When Pam isn’t brainstorming design ideas for The Parlor or thoughtfully curating their team of professional members, she makes sure to stay on top of her own self-care. In her beauty file, Pam shares her personal beauty and wellness routines, including the places you should be applying sunscreen (but probably aren’t) and the most liberating beauty decision she’s ever made.

Morning skincare:

Before heading to the gym, I rinse my face with water and a konjac sponge and then massage in either prickly pear or argan oil. A quick dab of eye cream and lip oil (currently loving Volufiline 15 Eye Essence and Lune+Aster Lip Oil), and I’m off.

My post-workout, pre-work regimen always includes Biologique Recherche Milk Cleanser (with a Clarisonic Facial Cleansing Brush), Biologique P50 Lotion, SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic, Trish McEvoy Eye Serum, Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Cream, and Dr. Dennis Gross Dark Spot Sun Defense Sunscreen which I apply to my face, neck, and back of hands. I also apply plenty of makeup.

Morning breakfast:

I don’t typically eat breakfast. I’ve been intermittent fasting forever – long before the term was coined!

Night skincare:

I follow the same regimen religiously; however, I switch my products up every few months. Currently, I remove my makeup with Green Clean Cleansing Balm by Farmacy, wash with NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash (always with the Foreo Luna), toner, serum, eye cream, and night cream for face and neck.

Supplements:

I take Ritual Essential for Women vitamins and MSM 1000 mg. I also add one pack of Goop Beauty GOOPGLOW Morning Skin SuperPowder in a big bottle of water first thing in the AM.

Fitness:

As a rule, I work out every morning.  The routine varies depending on where I am.  If I’m in NYC, I go to Equinox and take a class (I choose a different one every day). I love to hike and bike outdoors and try to do it as often as possible. I could not survive without daily exercise! It keeps me sane.

Tech:

I’m never without my iPhone – sad, but true! Whether it’s for work or family, I try to make sure I’m always connected and accessible – within reason, of course.

Hair:

A couple of years ago, I got a pixie haircut and it’s been the most liberating thing I’ve ever done for myself. To maintain that “just-right” length and style, I get a haircut every three weeks. I love my pixie and I’m never turning back!

Dermatologist or facialist:

Dermatologist: Dr. Dennis Gross

Facialist: Mila at Exhale Spa

Wellness:

I love all forms of biohacking from cryotherapy and IV drips to PRP injections, infrared light therapy, and intermittent fasting. I believe beauty starts on the inside, so having an overall foundation of wellness rituals is very important to me.

My best piece of beauty advice:

Try everything!  I will always be the first one to try a new treatment, product or service.  Experimenting is the best way to find the right treatments, products, and routine for YOU.

My best piece of life advice:

Don’t strive for perfection.  It’s overrated and too stressful.  Perfect is the evil of good enough!

Biggest beauty myth:

Sunscreen isn’t just for your face! We should make sure we’re protecting the other parts of our bodies that are often exposed to the sun when we don’t even realize it.  I put a giant glob of sunscreen on the back of my hands and neck every single day and highly recommend this practice.

My Charlotte:

I have two Charlottes – my daughters, Jessica and Jenna.  I’m so proud of them every day and they were actually a big part of the inspiration behind The Parlor NYC. They have each built communities in their work spaces and both have a strong sense of hospitality.

The Parlor NYC is currently recruiting beauty and wellness professionals for their curated community in the heart of the NoMad Design District at 33rd and Madison.  For information on becoming a member of The Parlor NYC, please visit TheParlorNYC.com.
