Beautycounter, Charlotte Tilbury, and Makeup Revolution Were the Most-Searched Beauty Brands of 2018

I'm actually shocked.

It seems with each passing year, the beauty business gets more exciting, and if the products we loved in 2018 are any indication, this year was definitely a great year for beauty. We continued to enjoy our forever go-tos, got hyped about new additions, and the re-discovered old favorites. From major brands like L’Oréal and Shiseido to makeup artist greats like Charlotte Tilbury and Pat McGrath, Google has tracked all the most-searched beauty brands of the year and compiled a list that has informed us of habits we didn’t even realize we had. Case in point: the top-trending brand is one that might surprise you.

Topping the list for the past year was Beautycounter, a healthier alternative to all things beauty and wellness. The data collected by the search engine suggests that consumers were much more interested in seeking out clean beauty alternatives than ever before. According to Beautycounter's website, they have “prohibited the use of more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals through “The Never List” — all while ensuring [their] products perform and that they’re as indulgent as any other luxe shampoo, lipstick, or oil in the market.”

The silver medal, as it stands, went to Charlotte Tilbury, followed by Makeup Revolution, Thrive Causemetics, Pat McGrath, and more. Find the top ten below — is your favorite on the list?
