BEAVER – County commissioners Thursday unanimously agreed to allocate some of the county’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to some of the county’s small businesses and nonprofits.

In total, $659,495 was given to small businesses, and $574,306 was given to nonprofits.

These grant allocations were given to help small businesses and nonprofits, to help recover some financial losses that may have occurred through the COVID-19 pandemic.

This allocation comes after the county announced around $20 million in ARPA funding to go toward broadband expansion, and around $17 million went towards municipalities and sewer/water authorities for different infrastructure projects.
