Victim identified in Tuesday morning Ohioville crash

Police department handbooks often leave the chain of command to superior officers, but the process of where these reports go after that point can differ by individual departments.

OHIOVILLE — The name has been released for the woman killed in a head-on crash Tuesday along Midland Road.

Beaver County Coroner David Gabauer said Wednesday that 56-year-old Anita Goatley of Midland died from blunt force trauma.

Beaver County police dispatch said the fatal crash occurred just after 8 a.m. when a semi-truck collided with Goatley's vehicle near the 200 block of Midland Road. No injuries were reported to the truck driver.

After the crash, the road was closed until around 12:15 p.m. as police investigated the scene. Reports indicate firefighters and police remained on the scene for several hours after the crash.
