Beaver County firefighter and father killed in Saturday night ATV accident

BEAVER FALLS ― A fatal crash claimed the life of a local volunteer firefighter and father Saturday night.

According to the Beaver County Coroner's Office, the crash occurred between a car and an ATV at 24th Street and Eighth Avenue in Beaver Falls just before midnight Saturday. Authorities said 30-year-old Cody Vorderbrueggen, the ATV rider, was killed on impact.

As of Tuesday morning, the crash remained under investigation.

Vorderbrueggen served with the White Township Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed hobbies such as fishing, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. He leaves behind his wife, Danielle, as well as several children and step-children.

Family friends of the Vorderbrueggen family have created a GoFundMe page to help cover the costs of the funeral services. As of Tuesday morning, the page had received over $1,300 in donations.
