Beaver County receives DEP mosquito grant

BEAVER — The Beaver County Conservation District was recently awarded a grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection in order to address mosquitos.

The grant, which is between $51,000 to $52,000, will be used for tick drafting and the surveillance and treatment for mosquitos in the county, especially for any that might contain the West Nile Virus.

The county has received the grant before to address mosquitos that have had the West Nile Virus, as according to a DEP website, there were positive cases of virus in Beaver County in 2021.
