Beavercreek Air Force Junior ROTC drill team wins state and national awards

The Beavercreek High School Air Force Junior ROTC Bombers Drill Team has earned state and national awards.

The Bombers recently competed in the state champion drill meet at the Tecumseh Regional Drill Meet. The team competed against drill teams from Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Out of fourteen teams, the Bombers placed first and were awarded State Campions for Ohio.

This past weekend, the Bombers traveled to Wright State University’s Nutter Center and participated at the Air Force Nationals, where the ‘best of the best’ compete. The team competed against other drill teams from California, Colorado, Iowa, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Germany.

The Bombers placed in two competition divisions, the Armed Division placing first and Unarmed Division placing third.

“The accomplishments reflect the cadets’ hard work, parent involvement, and the unwavering support of the school district. These accolades are significant accomplishments considering Beavercreek’s AFROTC program is only five years old and it is only the second time the teams participated in the event. Congratulations to both teams and the district!,” a spokesperson for Beavercreek City Schools said.
