Bed Bath & Beyond to close location in Holland Township
HOLLAND TWP. — A store in Holland Township has been added to the list of Bed Bath & Beyond locations closing in Michigan, employees were informed over the weekend.
The closure list updated Jan. 30 includes locations in Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Brighton, Chesterfield, Farmington Hills, Lansing, Muskegon, Northville, Walker and White Lake Township. The Holland storefront was not listed.
Holland was one of 16 Michigan stores set to remain after the closures, according to the Detroit Free Press. Assuming none of the others have been added, those stores now include:
Beverly Hills: 31535 Southfield Road
Flint: 3605 Miller Road
Grand Rapids: 4901 28th St. SE

Okemos: 1982 West Grand River Ave.

The New Jersey-based retailer warned in January it may need to file for bankruptcy as sales continue to drop, according to the Associated Press.
“There is substantial doubt about the company’s ability to continue as a going concern,” the retailer wrote in a statement.
The company said in early January it would slash an additional $80-$100 million across the company, including an unspecified number of layoffs.
An employee confirmed the Holland closure Saturday, Feb. 4, but said the store wouldn't shut its doors right away.
